Circadin 2mg is used to improve<\/a>
\nsleep quality and morning
\nalertness in patients over 55
\nyears of age with poor quality of
\nsleep.
\nThe active substance of
\nCIRCADIN, melatonin (not of
\nplant or animal origin), belongs to
\na group of naturally occurring
\nhormones produced in the body.
\nMelatonin works by controlling
\nthe circadian rhythms and
\nincreasing the propensity to
\nsleep.
\nYour doctor, however<\/a>, may
\nprescribe CIRCADIN for another
\npurpose.
\nAsk your doctor or pharmacist
\nif you have any questions about
\nwhy it has been prescribed for
\nyou.
\nThis medicine is only available
\nwith a doctor\u2019s prescription.
\nCIRCADIN is not addictive.
\nBefore you take
\nCIRCADIN
\nWhen you must not take it
\nDo not take CIRCADIN if you are
\nallergic to it or any of the
\ningredients listed at the end of this
\nleaflet.
\nSymptoms of an allergic<\/a> reaction
\nmay include shortness of breath,
\nwheezing or difficulty breathing,
\nswelling of the face, lips, tongue
\nor other parts of the body, or rash,
\nitching or hives on the skin.
\nDo not take CIRCADIN if you
\nhave been drinking alcohol or
\nintend to drink alcohol or believe
\nthat you may have alcohol, in your
\nblood stream.
\nDo not take CIRCADIN if you are
\npregnant or breast-feeding.
\nCIRCADIN has not been studied
\nin pregnant or breast-feeding
\nwomen.
\nDo not take it after the expiry
\ndate printed on the pack.
\nIf you take it after the expiry date
\nhas passed, it may not work as
\nwell. The expiry date refers to the
\nlast day of the month.
\nDo not take it if the packaging
\nis torn or shows signs of
\ntampering.
\nIf you are not sure whether you
\nshould start taking CIRCADIN talk
\nto your doctor.
\nBefore you start to take it
\nTell your doctor if:
\n1. you have any allergies to any
\nother medicines or any other
\nsubstances, such as foods,
\npreservatives or dyes.
\n2. you are pregnant or plan to
\nbecome pregnant
\n3. you are breast-feeding or
\nplanning to breast-feed
\n4. you have, or have had the
\nfollowing medical conditions:
\n\uf0b7 suffer from liver
\nproblems
\n\uf0b7 suffer from kidney
\nproblems
\n\uf0b7 If you suffer from an
\nautoimmune disease
\n\uf0b7 have a rare hereditary
\nproblem of galactose
\nintolerance, the LAPP
\nlactase deficiency or
\nglucose-galactose
