It is an injection pen which contains the medicine tirzepatide. The Mounjaro pen is a registered trademark of Eli Lilly.<\/p>\n<p>It can also be used for people with a BMI over 27 who<a href=\"https:\/\/google.com\"> have<\/a> also been diagnosed with weight-related medical problems. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diabetes type 2<\/li>\n<li>High cholesterol<\/li>\n<li>Obstructive sleep <a href=\"https:\/\/directpharmacyuk.com\/index.php\/product\/percocet-oxycodone-acetaminophen-5mg-325mg\/\">apnoea<\/a><\/li>\n<li>High blood pressure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"howdoesitwork\">How does mounjaro uk<\/h2>\n<p>Mounjaro contains the active ingredient tirzepatide.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/directpharmacyuk.com\/index.php\/product\/percocet-oxycodone-acetaminophen-5mg-325mg\/\">Tirzepatide<\/a> is from a class of drugs called GLP-1 agonsts. This is a class of drug which helps regulate hunger and is released by the intestines after a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Due to being similar to GLP-1, Mounjaro regulates appetite causing you to feel fuller and less hungry. This can lead to eating fewer calories and losing weight. Focussing on eating a reduced-calorie diet will further enhance the benefits of Mounjaro.<\/p>\n<h2>Is it for me?<\/h2>\n<p>Mounjaro\u00a0should\u00a0only be used to help with weight loss if you have already tried and failed to lose weight through exercise and diet alone. It is not currently available to buy in the UK, however there are other GLP-1 drugs which are availble. These incude Saxenda, Wegovy and Ozempic.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"howeffective\">How effective mounjaro uk<\/h2>\n<p>When using Mounjaro pens to suppress appetite, you can expect to lose a\u00a0around\u00a015-20% of your initial body weight after completing treatment.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"dosage\">Dose<\/h2>\n<p>Mounjaro comes as an injectable pen.\u00a0It is injected once weekly subcutaneously. The usual injection sites will be the upper arm, upper thigh or abdomen.<\/p>\n<p>The recommended starting dosage of Mounjaro is 2.5 mg weekly for four weeks. After a month, doses are then increased in 2.5 mg increments, as tolerated, up to a maximum of 15 mg once weekly.<\/p>\n<p>While increasing the dose\u00a0if you find the side effects problematic for two weeks or more you should discuss this with your doctor or pharmacist.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"alternatives\">Alternatives<\/h2>\n<p>The preferred and safest method of losing\u00a0weight is via a healthy diet and increased physical exercise.<\/p>\n<p>The NHS offers a\u00a012-week weight loss plan\u00a0for patients. Further information from the NHS is available for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/directpharmacyuk.com\/index.php\/product\/codeine-phosphate-30mg-tablets\/\">exercise<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0diets.<\/p>\n<p>Other GLP-1 drugs available in the UK as an alternative to Mounjaro include<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wegovy<\/li>\n<li>Saxenda<\/li>\n<li>Ozempic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For many people, the thought of injecting a treatment is not quite for them.\u00a0There are more traditional\u00a0weight loss pills available from our weight loss service, such as\u00a0Orlistat.
